Overall, Ichi Teriyaki stands out as a reliable spot for flavorful teriyaki dishes in Federal Way. Whether dining in or opting for takeout, this restaurant offers a satisfying meal that won't break the bank.
“ I noticed quite a bit of teriyaki joints around town, so one night I suggested to my friend that we check out- "Ichi Teriyaki" for dinner. Located in the Federal Way neighborhood, in the same shopping where I stopped by earlier for Trader Joe's, Ichi Teriyaki is sorta a mix of a "take-out", as well as a "dine-in" restaurant. How it works - 1. Basically you walk up to the ordering counter, and the menu is posted up on the wall behind the ordering counter area. 2. After placing your food order, you pay, then you can let the friendly restaurant worker know if you're gonna dine-in, or do take- out. 3. If dining-in, just find an open table within the restaurant. When your food is ready, they will bring your food to your table. I ended up ordering a Teriyaki Chicken Breast plate which came with two scoops of white rice & a garden salad. My friend ended up ordering a Teriyaki Chicken & Teriyaki Beef combo plate. His plate also included two scoops of white rice, & a garden salad. Overall, a solid fast food Teriyaki joint. Nothing outstandingly special about the food, but tasty enough, and the prices won't hurt your wallet either. ”
“ My boyfriend wanted teriyaki so I wanted to take him to a different teriyaki spot as I learned that Ichi Teriyaki offers free hot tea and egg drop soup which sounded heavenly so we decided to go here. We entered in around 1pm and it was pretty busy as most of the dining room was filled minus two tables but two of the occupied tables were taken by staff who were on lunch break. However, the staff here were great about ensuring tables were cleaned after customers left. As we entered, we were greeted warmly by a female cashier who was very friendly and helpful from the moment we entered to the moment we left. I was really thankful as I know reviews have mentioned that the cashier is usually male and does not offer any sort of service but glad to see that they have a female cashier who knows how to provide stellar service. She took our order which was a chicken katsu lunch special with fried rice which was $3 extra and I got the chicken teriyaki and egg roll lunch special. Once we got our orders in, we helped ourselves to water, hot tea and soup. For a free soup, it was filled with lots of vegetables and seasoned very well. The hot tea was perfect for the rainy weather and I just appreciate any place that offers free hot tea. After a few minutes, our orders came in and the portions for lunch are huge! Everything we had was amazing but we really loved the chicken katsu as the breading to meat ratio was perfect and the meat was super tender. I knew the dinner portions here are very generous but the lunch ones are pretty big too. We might have to make this our teriyaki lunch spot as the prices, taste and portions were fantastic! There were a few negatives that I noticed. One issue was that they are stingy on sauces as my egg roll sweet and sour sauce was barely enough to even dip my egg roll. The next issue I had was that there was no option to not tip or choose my amount of tip. Now I typically don't mind tipping but being able to control my amount of tip would be great in case there were things that made me want to tip less or more but they only had 15%, 18%, and 20%. This seems unfair also to those who are doing take out orders as I know sometimes they don't tip. Lastly, I wished they had music or radio as it was just silence or conversations had by other patrons. I feel like it would add to their warm and cozy dining room but it just felt hallow. Also, I would like if they had sriracha on all tables as there seems to be only one bottle and it would feel a little weird to ask a table that has it in their possession. Besides these minor issues, I do think it is worth visiting Ichi Teriyaki for a quick and amazing teriyaki dining experience. ”
“ It's been a while since I came here. Maybe about a year? Not as good as it used to be. The teriyaki sauce they used changed. It used to be AMAZING. Also the salad portions got way smaller. I also don't think they should pack the salad container with the hot foods because when I got to work, my salad was soggy and hot so I didn't enjoy it. Service was great although I miss how it used to be. ”
“ Ichi Teriyaki is my go-to restaurant. The food is delicious, and the service is great. I especially love the location and the crowd that's always there. ”
“ Been here a few times now. Some orders for here.. some togo. I love the chicken fried rice and the Teri chicken. Now in with hubby and had some free soup while we waited. Lots of togo orders here. But we like eating in. It's comfy and cozy in here. The 2 chicky Teri's are yummy. And had lots of left overs. This pix is of dinner size. Lunch special if I remember right is one less portion of meat and $10. Dinner $15. Soooo good too. ”
“ I consider myself a spicy chicken teriyaki connoisseur. That being said, this one is really really good, not only is the meat really clean (like not fatty or cartilage) but the portions are really big!! The place is always packed and basically one guy runs the show, he is always so consistently friendly and upbeat that it gives me even more reason to patronize this restaurant as if I needed another reason for good food. Also in a time where everything costs more and you get less, not here the portions are big and if you eat in they have complimentary soup and hot tea. Best teriyaki in Federal Way!!! ”
